I can remember the day when we finally went to the place which we had planned for last few weeks. It was on 17th Sept 2015 and there was Viswakarma Puja and I travelled with my 3 of colleagues to our final destination.

About Tada

At a distance of 29 km from Tada, 45 km from Srikalahasti, 85 km from Tirupati, 92 km from Chennai, 130 km from Nellore and 156 km from Chittoor, Tada falls or Ubbalamdugu Falls is in Varadaiah Palem Mandal of Chittoor district in India. It is situated on the border of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

The falls are located in a dense forest called Siddulaiah Kona. The falls are located within the Kambakam hills and are a popular destination for trekking, climbing and picnicking. The terrain that surrounds the falls includes rocky hill formations and lush forests interspersed with a number of streams.

Planning

I'd completed my B.Tech. in 2013, and I joined in a Pune based company. Within a few years time, I had visited few cities, and Chennai was one of them. I lived in SPKoil, near Chengalpattu and I visited too many places from there. I will share my other trips in my upcoming posts.

We were 4, who had planned the trip. Rupesh who was my senior, Hari who was my junior and Santosh who left the job for MS and I. We had planned it and null it many times because there was no holiday in our org. But at last, we found a date, it was Viswakarma Puja and it was semi-holiday. Semi holiday in the sense, we had to attend the puja, because it was our responsibility to arrange the puja in our site. So we finished all the work and we left for the Tada within 11 am.

It will be best, if you went there with a group because then you will be able to enjoy even more.

Best Time To Visit

Best time to visit there is from Oct to Feb. It will be better if you can avoid the rainy season. In summer you will feel uncomfortable. If someone wants to see the mad falls then the rainy season is best, but additional caution needs to be taken. No one knows when danger will come on your way.

How To Reach

When we were planning, we found out every alternative to reach there

Buses are available from Chennai (starting at Koyembedu bus stand) SETC bus no.114 drops you till Varadayya palem (the last human settlement on the way to TADA falls). Varadyya palem is approximately 8 km from the forest dept. check post. Autos are available for travel from Varadayya palem to the check post, which would cost between Rs200 and Rs350, depending on how well you can bargain.
Trains from Chennai heading to Sullurpeta from Chennai Central pass via Tada. There is a train every two hours and the last train from Tada to Chennai leaves at 8:30 pm.
A car is the best transport mode. If you start the journey from Chennai Central, then it is approx 95km and it will take nearly 2hr30min to reach there. It will be best to go via NH16, then from Tada, you have to take left and from Varadihapalem again you have to take left to reach the waterfalls.

We hired a car from Zoom car app. Zoom cars are available in the various location. We had started the journey from SPkoil, we took the train to reach Thirusulam near Chennai airport. From there four of us had started our journey. Rupesh, Hari and I went there together and Santosh came later to join us.

Hari and Santosh are Tamilian. But when we reached there and asked a man to
tell which road should we follow, he couldn't understand. We already entered
in Andhra Pradesh and they know only Telugu. We always think that Tamil and Telegu
are same. But in actual it is not.

But be cautious, they checked your car or bag thoroughly. If you carry wine
with you, then they will not allow you to enter.

When we again started our journey, we find a Shiva temple

another side and again started walking

At last found an area where we took rest for some time. We were totally exhausted

I can't explain

We were amazed by seeing the water. We also drank from there. But don't
forget your shoes, otherwise sharp rock can harm you. Take those
shoes which have enough grip.

mistake those beauties for which you want to go there. It makes us very difficult.

This height is more than 20ft. I managed to get there on my first move, but I found no

one there. So I get down. But someone told us, that there is a big pond.
Everyone climbed to the top and I was the last person to climb.
My foot was wet. I got stuck after reaching the mid.
I was in the position that I would fall down to death.
But I had managed somehow to reach.
